Opportunity Snapshot

Get in on the ground floor and build a rewarding career with Global Conference Partners, a leading telephony and web conferencing company that is changing the way the world connects. Demand for our services is rapidly expanding, and we are adding to our team in order to manage the increasing sales volume, which we believe will more than double this year. This leads us to where you'll fit in. . .

As our new Sales Support/Account Manager, you'll be charged with supporting our sales process, directly interacting with partners nationwide, and coordinating new account set up, while representing some of the top telephone and web collaboration products in the market, in a position that also offers:
  • Opportunity to make an impact -- as the main point of contact between our partners and the business, you'll be in a great position to build relations, ensure partner satisfaction, and help boost our success as an organization.
  • Great work environment -- you'll benefit from a flat organizational structure and a highly entrepreneurial yet casual environment that puts people first.
  • Career growth -- as you assist our expansion, and advance your skill set in the process, you'll be well situated to take on increased responsibility and move up within the organization, whether you choose to stay in Account Management or make the transition into Sales.
  • Visibility -- you'll regularly interact with almost every area of the organization -- including our Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams -- which will offer you comprehensive insight into our business and broad recognition for your achievements in this role.
  • Excellent compensation -- in addition to a competitive salary and bonus potential, you'll receive a full benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, life insurance, paid time off, and more.
  • Pride & stability -- you'll become part of one of Los Angeles' leading telephony and technology firms. We were one of the first companies to provide low-cost audio teleconferencing services available through the internet and have been operating profitably for over five years.

Our Requirements

  • 3+ years Account Management experience, preferably in the Internet/technology sector
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Photoshop
  • Enthusiastic self initiative, great organizational skills, and an independent work ethic
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth environment
  • Bachelor's degree

Who We Are

Based in Hollywood, California, Global Conference Partners (GCP) offers simple, convenient and reliable audio and web conferencing tools to small to medium enterprises, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals at little or no cost. Our product web sites include freeconference.com, instantconference.com, globalconference.com, and expressconference.com. Global Conference Partners generates revenues by partnering with local exchange carriers (LECs who operate local telephone services), who pay the company an origination fee for building their traffic. These fees are dependent on the LECs receiving access fees from originating carriers (such as AT&T), as mandated by the FCC.

We also generate revenues from direct credit card-based purchases of premium services that include toll-free calling, recording services, transcriptions, and Web Conferencing services, which our customers can purchase to augment the free conferencing services. Global Conference Partners was acquired in May 2006 by American Capital, a publicly traded private equity fund with capital resources of approximately $7.7 billion. American Capital invests in and sponsors management and employee buyouts, invests in private equity buyouts, provides capital directly to early stage and mature private and small public companies and through its asset management business is a manager of debt and equity investments in private companies.

More About Your Role

As Sales Support/Account Manager, you'll report to and closely support the VP of Sales, who will help you get acquainted in this role, introduce you to our organization, and train you on internal tools such as Sales Genie and SalesForce.com. Once up to speed, you'll take point in getting the deals that the VP of Sales closes up and running as quickly as possible. This year, with your help, we plan to add at least another 100 new accounts. You can expect to spend about 30% of your time on the phone interacting with these partners and the remaining 70% working with our internal team to set up and support the services we provide for them. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Liaising with new partners to coordinate account set up and gather the materials we require (such as logos and other creative elements).
  • Working with our Operations team to allocate and set up dedicated conference call numbers for new partners.
  • Working with our Marketing and Creative team to develop private label web sites for our partners.
  • Alerting new partners when their set up is complete, walking them through the service, and answering any questions.
  • Coordinating with our Finance team to ensure partner invoices are paid.
  • Providing the main point of contact for partners and coordinating user support as needed.
  • Informing partners of new products and service enhancements.
  • Keeping track of partner service usage and inquiring into any issues or decreases in usage.
  • Assisting in the development of sales presentations using PowerPoint, Photoshop, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Performing minor research on potential partners and industries.
  • Traveling to trade shows (approximately four a year, including one in Canada) and working the company's trade show booths.
In the future, we'll also look to you to leverage the relationships you build with our partners and begin an outbound sales effort to up-sell our premium services and increase revenues.

Keys to Success

Your interpersonal and communication skills will really come into play in this role. As the main point of contact for our partners, you will need to clearly articulate our offerings and requirements over the phone and professionally and tactfully address any issues they may have. Internally, you'll need to take a collaborative yet influential approach to making new partner account set up a priority within the organization, and will need to stay on top of our Operations and Creative groups to ensure those deals get off the ground in a timely fashion.

Further qualities and skills that will assist your success in this role include:
  • Strong initiative and self motivation for independently managing your responsibilities and following through on your objectives to timely completion.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail for ensuring accuracy and keeping everything on track.
  • Flexibility in order to flow with the various transitions taking place in our rapid growth environment.
  • A strong desire for working with technology/software service solutions.
If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity, and you meet the required qualifications, we look forward to hearing from you.
